Summary/Abstract: In Belarus, discrimination in the culturalsector has been shown to be both institutionaland systemic, with the Belarusian PEN Club reportingthat cultural life is the area where civil liberties areregressing most rapidly. At least 105 cultural figureshave now been imprisoned in Belarus for theircommitment to democratic ideals and freedom.
