Summary/Abstract: The author writes about a little known book of Borisav Stankovic Under Occupation, which was published after his death in 1929. Dragutin Kostic, a friend of the aforementioned author, prepared this book for publishing. The most interesting texts in the book concern the life of the author in occupied Belgrade. It is a panorama of "psychological portraits" of Belgrade residents - "salon" patriots, war profiteers, small artisans, as well as people who do their job and think how to survive. Stankovic is not only ruthless towards those people but also towards himself. Living under the unjustified mortgage of traitors and collaborators the author, by either picturing himself and his family or others, reveals all the misery of life under occupation. The author of the text believes that the greatest value of this book which he wrote as a broken and disappointed man, is its documentation.
