Summary/Abstract: Dedicating his talent of a historian and literary writer for perpetuation of events of the glorious period of the history of Albanian people, to the wars led by Scanderbeg against Ottoman invaders, Barletius forever bound his name with Scanderbeg’s name, and his work together with Scanderbeg’s work, and as such in Europe entirely they have been very much respected as famous ones: Scanderbeg as a statesman ,as a military commander, a brave and wise man, who with his not so numerous army, fought very successfully against armies of Turkish sultans, while Barletius as a historian (historiographer) and a talented writer, with his progressive ideas and feelings for that time, with a cultivated language and with a fluent and figurative style, treated this Albanian theme, which was neglected and underrated by others, leaving us so the most valuable historical, literary and cultural monument about the most glorious events of the history of our nation, making them known in whole Europe and deservedly representing our culture within the great Cultural Movement of the European Renaissance. Historia de vita et gestis Scanderbegi, Epirotarum Principis (1508-1510) “The History of the life and works of Scanderbeg, the prince of Epirotes” by the humanist and priest from Shkodra is the most complete expression of development of our nation in a special phase of our past. It is a synthesis of development of entire Albanian culture in XV century. Its place in the history of Albanian culture forever will be very important and irreplaceable.
