Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to reflect on the semantic specialization of the lexical family of the noun “king” in the French language, used to designate the Heavenly King, the God of Christians and His Kingdom, called the Kingdom of Heaven. Our reflection will be supported by the lexico-semantic analysis of some nouns and noun phrases (such as: Roi, règne, royauté, Royaume des cieux, Royaume de Dieu, Royaume céleste [King, reign, kingship, Kingdom of Heaven, Kingdom of God, celestial Kingdom]) belonging to this lexical family at the level of many liturgical contexts taken from Orthodox Christian sources edited in French language.
