Reflexivity in the Bulgarian interlanguage: observations on the use of the се and си clitics

Summary/Abstract: The present paper examines the peculiarities manifested in the process of expressing reflexivity in Bulgarian Interlanguage by using the се and си clitics. The focus on these clitics, found in the speech of the students studyng Bulgarian as a foreign language, is motivated by the idiosyncrasy of the Bulgarian reflexive pronominal clitic forms. Various realizations in the use of се and си clitics are traced and described, subsequently accounting for their occurence.
