Summary/Abstract: This study examines the legal framework of protective measures for victims under Article 67 of the Bulgarian Criminal Procedure Code, introduced in line with the transposition of Directive 2011/99/EU. The paper analyzes the nature of these measures, the procedural mechanisms for their application, and the challenges related to the summoning of parties. Particular attention is given to the discrepancies between Bulgarian legislation and European standards. The paper concludes with de lege ferenda proposals for legislative amendments aimed at enhancing the efficiency, speed, and legal certainty of the protective proceedings
