Summary/Abstract: The maritime industry is entering new technological era with introduction of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS). Transformation of MASS concept to reality accelerates with rapid pace. The way cargo and passengers move across the world's oceans will change significantly as a result of these ships' ability to operate with little or no human intervention. The shipping sector is expected to become safer, more efficient and greener in the future as automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and sensor technologies advance further. Nevertheless, this is calling for significant changes in maritime education and training. This research examines the challenges, new requirements and impact which MASS will present to maritime educational and training institutions (МЕТ)
