Text, Image, and Context in Contemporary Japanese Cinema

Summary/Abstract: This study provides a brief overview of film adaptations of Japanese literary works from 2001 to 2010. It is an attempt to systematise and highlight emblematic Japanese works which convey the harmonious connection of text and image, intertwined through the prism of the contemporary context. The aim is to outline the trends in the development of this genre as a connecting link between literature and cinema.
