The Text as Op/position in Contemporary Art

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the functions of text in contemporary art, emphasising its dual role as both a visual form and critical discourse. Through comparative analysis of Bulgarian and international examples, it explores how artists use language as a means of positioning and opposing dominant cultural and political narratives. Special attention is given to typographic strategies, the integration of text in public and digital space, and the capacity of words to transform artistic practice into a tool of critique and social engagement.
