Summary/Abstract: The article deals with words used in the dialects of the Gemer region to refer to containers used to store food, crops, raw materials and other substances in the traditional Gemer household, as well as containers used for transporting food and drinks. The article also points out the motivation behind the names of the containers and the purpose of their use, or the material they are made of. Also interesting is the adaptation of some words originating from the Hungarian and German languages into Gemer dialects.
