Summary/Abstract: In the current national security environment, there is no doubt that terrorism is one of the greatest threats. In our modern society, terror and terrorism are reaching new levels of manifestation. Today we are witnessing ubiquitous terrorist attacks that have serious consequences both for global security and stability and for the normal psychological functioning not only of people who experienced the immediate terrorist attack, but, thanks to widespread media coverage, also of those living thousands of kilometers from the site of the attack. Terrorism is a phenomenon associated with violence, fear, and ideology. To understand him, it is necessary to analyze not only his manifestations, but also the personality of the terrorist - his motivation, specific personality characteristics and the factors that push the particular individual to extreme actions. The purpose of this article is to analyze and synthesize the personality traits of individuals engaging in terrorist activity.
