Summary/Abstract: Following the failed French military assault on the Imperial Palace and the Mang Ca garrison on July 05, 1885, Ton That Thuyet facilitated Emperor Ham Nghi's escape and subsequently issued the Can Vuong decree, igniting a widespread patriotic movement across Vietnam. Quang Nam emerged as a significant supporter of the Can Vuong movement, rallying under the banner of the Uprising Association. The development and activities of the Can Vuong movement in Quang Nam are closely linked to various bases and notable scholars. Particularly, the Uprising Association movement flourished under the leadership of Leader Nguyen Duy Hieu at the Tan Tinh – Trung Loc base. The article investigates the Tan Tinh – Trung Loc base of the Quang Nam Uprising Association (1886-1887), contributing to a deeper understanding of Quang Nam's role in the Can Vuong movement in Vietnam during the late 19th century-an exemplary nation in the struggle against French colonialism that ultimately led to the French withdrawal in 1954.
