Summary/Abstract: Early Christianity and the lives of the Fathers of this period were a constant concern in the publications of the Bollandist monks. The memory of the Fathers of the first centuries was a priority in tracing the research coordinates of the Bollandists. The honoring of the Fathers gave birth to a considerable number of documents, different in form and substance, but having the same objective; each Bollandist presented in his own way the life of each father and mirrored him in countless diversity. This study wants to prove how the monks of the Bollandist Society saw the concept of Father and Paternity as a priority. The Bollandist monks regarded the Fathers of the early Church as those who distinguished themselves by facts worthy of being followed by those who want to step on the path of Christian perfection. The Bollandists’ vision of the life of the Church Fathers outlined an informational history corroborated with more inspirational stories and legends, which was the basis for compiling the martyrologies. In the research method of the Bollandists, it was taken into consideration: The annual calendar catalog or menaion, the Synaxarion and the Paterikon. The concept of Father and Paternity in the vision of the Bollandist monks created the masterful Bollandist works: Vitae Patrum, Acta Sanctorum and Analecta Bollandiana.
