Women's participation in political life: comparative experience of Russia and Great Britain

Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of women’s participation in politics in Russia and in Great Britain, first of all in national parliaments and governments. Analysis of this aspect shows that both countries are behind many countries of Europe, Latin America and Africa. But during last years there is certain difference between the two countries. British political parties took some measures to increase the number of female parliamentary candidates.
