Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the least studied period of the political biography of one of the leaders of the black hundred, the leader of the All-Russian Dubrovinsky Union of the Russian People Alexander Ivanovich Dubrovin (1855–1921). Historians of the right-wing parties of the Russian Empire usually turn to Dubrovin’s activities during its heyday, which fell during the First Russian Revolution (1905–1907), or during the schisms in the monarchist movement (1908–1912), while much less attention is paid to the period of the First World War and the February Revolution that broke out during it. Meanwhile, the last period of Dubrovin’s political activity is of no less research interest and needs scientific coverage to reconstruct the holistic biography of this right-wing politician. The article is based on a rich source material (archival documents, periodical publications), a significant part of which is being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The publication enriches the historiography of the right-wing movement with new information concerning the publishing, journalistic and personal life of Dubrovin during the period from 1914 to 1917. The article reveals Dubrovin’s attitude to the war, Germany, issues of Russia’s internal policy, the activities of the liberal camp and the State Duma, and the tasks of the monarchist movement. Considerable attention is paid to the accusations made against Dubrovin during the war years of Germanophilism, defeatism, and the preparation of an assassination attempt on P.N.Milyukov. For the first time, the period of Dubrovin’s imprisonment in 1917 is described in detail. The new facts presented in the article concerning Dubrovin’s biography, as well as his assessment by contemporaries, significantly expand the understanding of the personality and activities of this extremely ambiguous Russian politician and provide valuable material for further study of his biography.
