Summary/Abstract: Digital transformation in higher education examines the essence, significance, benefits, and challenges of this process. The focus is on the main directions of transformation, including the integration of modern technological platforms and learning tools, the evolving roles of teachers and students in the digital environment, and the need to develop digital competencies. The effects of digitalization on teaching processes, student engagement, and the administrative organization of universities are also analyzed. Digital transformation is defined not merely as the introduction of new technologies but as a comprehensive change encompassing cultural, pedagogical, and organizational aspects. Through the implementation of learning management systems, virtual environments, adaptive platforms, and artificial intelligence, conditions are created for personalized learning, increased efficiency, and improved accessibility. The distinction between digitalization, automation, and transformation demonstrates that the latter requires a deep rethinking of traditional educational models. Global and European trends, as well as strategic documents such as the Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027), emphasize the importance of building a sustainable digital ecosystem, promoting innovation, and developing digital skills. In this context, tools such as virtual reality, gamification, and international academic collaboration are increasingly important. Despite numerous benefits, universities face a range of challenges, including unequal access to technology, insufficient training and adaptation of academic staff, administrative barriers, and issues related to data security. Overcoming these obstacles requires strategic actions, including targeted investments in digital infrastructure, systematic teacher training, and the development of an institutional culture that supports innovation. Key strategies for developing digital education include the integration of LMS platforms, the development of hybrid and distance learning models, the use of artificial intelligence and adaptive technologies, and the creation of a digital culture within universities. Special attention is given to the need for sustainable development and the application of best practices to ensure high-quality education and equal access for all students. In conclusion, the report emphasizes the strategic actions necessary for the successful implementation of digital transformation in higher education. It represents not only a technological innovation but also a comprehensive change in academic culture, offering new opportunities for personalization, accessibility, and efficiency. Its successful realization requires vision, coordinated efforts, and international collaboration to prepare universities for the challenges and opportunities of the digital era.
