Summary/Abstract: The article takes us back to the period of formation of a scientific research methodology in Bulgaria about the structural characteristics of the ceramic pottery, on the technology of execution and, above all, on the artistic structures used by Neolithic and Eneolithic artists who have reached us. The author discusses various aspects of the restoration theme – about the ethical postulates in the restoration, about the international conven tions for the support and protection of movable cultural-historical monu ments and their artistic values, about the aesthetics of exposure, about permissible and inadmissible reconstructions of form and decoration du ring exposure, about the debate when more or less authentic fragments of the artifact are missing, about the comparative analysis of the results of scientific research, about the selection of suitable restorative materials, about the durability of natural and artificial polymers in time, etc. As a specific example on the subject, the re-restoration of the artifact “Fallow deer from the village Muldava near the town of Assenovgrad” is commented.
