Summary/Abstract: The topicality of the subject addressed derives from the fact that crimes against the health of the person constitute the most dangerous prejudicial acts within the crimes against the person, after crimes against his life. In this context, there is a need to elucidate their constitutive content, especially focusing our attention on the component of serious harm to bodily integrity or health, given the complex nature and lack of uniformity in its application. Moreover, the topicality also derives from the fluctuations of the amendments to the criminal law in force. The importance of the study consists in carrying out a comprehensive research and analysis of the aspects regarding the historical evolution of the legal regulations regarding crimes against bodily integrity and health of the person. Socially dangerous acts directed against the person are numerous and varied. Making a distinction between acts directed against absolute rights regarding physical existence and the main attributes of the human being and personality, on the one hand, and acts attributed against other human rights and interests, on the other hand, we discover a distinct category of crimes, which we can name – Crimes against the person, specific to Chapters II, III, IV and VII of the Special Part of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova. Health represents the most important attribute of the person, of course after his life. Health is essential, manifesting itself as a basic condition for the existence and prosperity of other social values, such as: honesty, dignity, freedom, sexual inviolability, etc.
