Summary/Abstract: Associating the theatre of ideas with the political theatre, I will argue that the latter is today a valid example, in a continuous process of development. Theatre, since its emergence in Ancient Greece, has been a means of forming some definitions of social, moral, spiritual values, etc. Consequently, the theatre of ideas and the political theatre, which rely on the same Aristotelian principles in the ir interaction/communication with the audience, consciously or unconsciously create the value orientations of society, that is, they shape an idea of good and evil. Any artist, creator of political theatre, whether, he likes it ornot, becomes a Brechtian. The Englishman Peter Brook, staging “Marat/Sade” by Peter Weiss, practically uses the same techniques: songs, expressionism, song-cabaret structure. At the same time, the songs do not reveal the characters’ traits but ratherprovide a commentary on the ongoing action – this is a very important difference between political cabaret and a musical oroperetta. Action – this is a very important difference between a political cabaret and a musical or operetta. It is true that thediscussion I would like to submit to the phenomenon of political theater primarily aims at „a look at the 20th century in thissense and a perspective for the future”, which strongly involved the political theater „in the political games”, of yesterday, todayand perhaps even tomorrow.
