Summary/Abstract: As of 01.01.2026, the Republic of Bulgaria officially becomes part of the Eurozone. By joining the EU monetary union, our country joins the 20 EU member states and 6 other non-EU countries that adopt the euro as their official currency. Undoubtedly, the transition to the conversion of assets, liabilities and equity of enterprises will be a lengthy process, which will start on 01.01.2026, but should ultimately be completed no later than 31.12.2026. In this article, we will pay special attention to the peculiarities related to the currency conversion of the registered share capital of commercial companies in the Commercial Register and the Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities. For those enterprises that have the legal form of Ltd., we will indicate the legal actions that partners should take in order to preserve their rights as well as their shareholding in the company's capital.
