Summary/Abstract: With the impact of the economic crisis, the various interstate conflicts and the new facts of global competitiveness, environmental protection and climate transition regulations are stagnating, if not regressing, and we are witnessing an increase in the jurisdictions' concerns for creative interpretation and prospective application of the relevant legal norms. They are most often expressed through relevant case law, with a generalizing value of conclusions and advisory opinions, in the form of in-depth analysis of the existing body of law and appropriate clarifications, to capture the meanings and reveal development trends. This is also the eloquent case of the steps taken and the related results obtained in the last two years by three representative international jurisdictions: the judgment of April 9, 2024 of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR or the Court) in Verein KlimaSeniorinnen Schweiz and others v. Switzerland, the advisory opinion No. 32/25 of May 29, 2025 of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACtHR) on the obligations of States in relation to climate emergency and the advisory opinion of July 23, 2025 of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the obligations of States in climate matters.
