Summary/Abstract: Alla Horska (September 18, 1929 – November 28, 1970) is among the key figures of Ukrainian dissent. An artist who, in adulthood, stood against the Soviet Russification of Ukraine and opposed the regime with her art, she was murdered under mysterious circumstances in November 1970, shortly before a massive wave of arrests of Ukrainian dissidents. Her artistic and human rights legacy also extends to the current Russian aggression in Ukraine.
