Summary/Abstract: The present study does not aim to repeat well-known facts, butrather to examine the events from a different perspective – their place within the rebellious decade of 1866 – 1876. This is done against the backdrop of the complex political and social relations in the Balkans, as well as by tracing their repercussions in diplomatic circles and on the pages of the Revival press. An analysis of these circumstances reveals that the detachment of Nikola Voyvodov and Tsvyatko Pavlovich, although it did not achieve its intended goals, triggered significant public, political, and diplomatic reactions. As a consequence, it led to the replacement of one foreign minister, one governor of a vilayet, and one consul in the administrative center of the vilayet.
