Summary/Abstract: In many nation-states there is a very thin line between freedom and submission; the transition from a monarchical system to an autocratic regime, to a real dictatorship, can occur through modifications so insensitive that they make it perceptible neither by the subjects nor by the power in office that is suddenly overthrown by other power, if not by self-modification! The power of culture and institutions in the service of politics has accompanied human history for centuries [...]. Thanks to their evocative power, the authority that derives from the function of spreading culture and the ability to manipulate history by proposing objects whose physics in common sense is considered a guarantee of truth, museums have played a central role in establishing the communist regime in Albania. Communism with its consequences of terror is remembered in democratic Albania with various museum installations, but what I seek through this scientific research is to highlight the concept of the socialist museum as a distributor of a dictatorial monopoly propaganda before the '90s and the preservation of the communist heritage Albanian within the very spaces of those buildings that once served a specific purpose, but that today are there as evidence of a time as thrilling as the old generations and unknown and imperceptible to the younger generations. All this alienating process seen in the perspective of the integration process of Albania in the European Union. A very complicated and important process for the country of eagles, because it directly affects the way the former museum conceived according to the principles of Socialist realism will have to adapt to the legislation and principles of the European Union.
