Examining the Conditions for Educator Effectiveness in Higher Education

Summary/Abstract: The economic and social changes of recent years, as well as the accelerating pace of technological innovation, have significantly transformed the higher education environment. These changes also pose new challenges for the functioning of higher education and the role of teachers in higher education. Our study focuses on the future vision of university education, the opportunities for development in the digital environment, including the changing role of higher education teachers, and the complex issues of developing teaching skills and evaluating teaching. The results of our backcasting research highlight the fact that continuous development of human resources and teaching competences required for quality performance in higher education cannot be replaced by even the most detailed evaluation system.
