Summary/Abstract: The article provides a brief overview of the research conducted by several well-known scholars on the topic of historical memory in Ukraine since the country gained its independence in 1991. The author examines the phenomenon of historical memory in the modern era, with particular focus on its role during the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. In this context, the interrelation between the concepts of individual memory, collective memory, and war is explored. Special attention is given to language memory and linguistic identity as integral components of historical memory.
