Summary/Abstract: Communism is one of the most controversial periods in Romanian history. This ideology was taken over from the Soviets and had some characteristics: political propaganda, the binding loyalty of people to the party or the village’s collectivization.In the novel “Clipa”, the characters are built differently, so that the reader may have a wide view over the party and everyday life of those times. The living of people was divided between work anf family. The political party didn’t allow the rules’ undermining. The cruelty of party was well-known to all citizens.The main character in the novel, Dumitru Dumitru, is a harsh activist only when he needs to face the responsabilities of his work. Deep down he is fair man. The duality of his personality keeps him in the party, but also rules him out. He has no family. His work is his family and friends.Therefore, his life is full of regrets, but in the same time his homelands are his refuge. Is a very complex character.The novel presents the fine line between the moment lived and the value of existence.
