MILLENNIALS AND THE DIGITAL ERA OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

Summary/Abstract: We slow down the rhythms of our lives for a while, to feel the pulse of the contemporary world. The evolution of society, under all its aspects, puts us to all sorts of challenges, forcing us to keep up with the changes from the life of this historical period. It is the age of the Generation Y, the millenials, defined by a dynamics of high performance, which is a result of the time-value relationship, under the impact of the digital technology development. In this context, the internet, the basis of the current modern civilization, means connexion between the worlds, through “one click away” information. Outside the constraints of any landmarks, the arts, especially literature, manifests itself in independent spaces, expressing its ideals in a paradigm of excessive corporality, of pushed-to-absolute biography, of the actual reality, thus being the poetic expression of a world on the fine line between freedom and libertinism.
