Summary/Abstract: Currently, psychomotricity is approached from the perspective of the connection, on the one hand, between laterality, spatial structure and temporal orientation and, on the other hand, between the level of psychomotor abilities and the school difficulties of children with normal intelligence. Similar to gymnastics, which "is recognized as a sport of correctness and beauty, the movements performed having to fit into different parameters of amplitude, speed, rhythm and tempo, degree of tension or relaxation, coordination, strictly respecting the axes and planes", dance follows the same coordinates, consisting of a set of steps and figures executed with high technicality and in an artistic manner, which induces admiration and places it on the border between sport and art. Ensuring the motor support necessary for dance sports involves action in the following main directions: Preparing physical support by developing basic motor skills, to build the starting point of specific preparation - the physical component of sports trening; Mastering the technical content specific to dances in the standard and Latin categories – the technical component of sports trening; Formation of the aesthetics of gesture and bodily expressiveness – the artistic component of sports trening
