Summary/Abstract: This article explores the interplay between individual and collective experiences as reflected in theatrical performance, focusing on Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. It examines how moments of shared and personal action shape social cohesion, understanding, and conflict, and how culture continuously influences communities. Using the 2022 staging by Teat(r)o Oficina in São Paulo as a reference, the article highlights the enduring relevance of Beckett’s work, its capacity to provoke interpretation across decades, and its role in promoting symbolic, social, and political engagement. The study emphasizes theatre as a space for collective reflection, resilience, and the reaffirmation of human dignity in uncertain times.
