Summary/Abstract: In contemporary Romanian language, the morphological class of the numeral has always been a controversial one. While some authors consider that it does not have enough autonomy to create a distinct morphological class, others consider it to be, along with pronouns, a substitute for the noun. In this paper, we aim to demonstrate the hybrid character of the numeral class in light of the changes brought about by the contemporary grammatical vision.
