Electric bicycle movement research

Summary/Abstract: The quantity of electric bicycles in Poland is increasing, and consequently, the quantity of road accidents involving them is also likely to increase. There are few research results in the literature on the dynamics of movement of such bicycles, so the research was undertaken to at least partially fill the gaps. The article presents the results of tests on acceleration and intensive braking, lane changes, and U-turns for two Unibike electric bicycle models, Swift and Optima. The basic tests were supplemented with braking tests on bicycle paths with asphalt and concrete surfaces, paving stones and surface covered with special paint.
