Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses Poland’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically in terms of securing an adequate number of hospital beds for COVID-19 patients. The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has rapidly developed into a global crisis since the beginning of 2020, resulting in individual states implementing restrictive measures to control the spread of the virus and manage the crisis situation. The paper outlines the process of establishing dedicated hospitals and discusses potential problems related to the functioning of specialized facilities for patients infected with the SARS-COV-2 virus. The primary focus is on ensuring the security of the crisis situation and diligent monitoring of the current pandemic. The paper highlights the importance of effective crisis management, resource allocation, and ongoing evaluation of policies and procedures to manage the pandemic’s impacts on the healthcare system. The paper provides insights into the challenges and successes of Poland’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and can serve as a useful reference for policymakers and healthcare professionals facing similar crises in the future.
