Summary/Abstract: The expedition was similar to such а kind of operations at this time: after the Slavs had Ьееn pushed from the plains to the mountains and then besieged, they were forced to suгrender during severe winter conditions. That's why Staurakios, after his victoгy, triumphally entered Constantinople in the middle of the winter, in Januaгy 784.
