Summary/Abstract: The unfolding 21st century poses for Islam dilemmas never encountered earlier. The challenges include unprecedented development of new qualities of technologies, emergence of the “zombie” quality in some sciences of modernity, reforming education, misinterpretations of Islam etc. It will continue to be important to respond to the media creations of Islam’s perception. That response should include our own introspection of matters. Is- lam may offer filling deficiencies of humanism, and values, to the material success oriented Western education. The phenomenon of popularity of Rumi’s poetry in the West shows that spirituality and humanism rooted in Islam is accepted there. Into such range of issues, the papers include remarks about the validity of historical experience of European Muslims living in Europe for 600 years. Opinions from Muslim scholars are included as support or comparison for conclusions of the paper. The concluding remarks are built upon statements from Pakistani documents of 1954. Searching for the alternative to rejection of the Western modern. Supportive quotations of academic views of Muslim scholars, proposals are sub- mitted for further debate and action.
