The Secret of Récit

Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on a specific aspect of the narrative form known as récit. Drawing on the ideas of Maurice Blanchot, it offers a non-traditional interpretation of récit. The theoretical reconstruction of Blanchot’s argument in his essay “The Song of the Sirens” is used as the foundation for further exploration of récit in relation to Franz Kafka’s parables and their proximity to Blanchot’s theory of narrative.
