Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of both qualitative and quantitative studies conducted in Polish repertory theatres in 2024. This research was designed as a constructive attempt to address the calls repeated upon many occasions by the theatre community (including the author of the presented text) over several decades, urging the preservation of vanishing theatre crafts. The primary aim of the studies was to identify and collect best practices and strategies for maintaining and/or developing theatre crafts employed by those managing theatres and overseeing stage design and costume production. The survey and interviews addressed various aspects, including human resource management, remuneration policies, equipping workshops with new technologies, and promotional efforts to enhance the social visibility of artisans. It also explored the expectations of theatres involving organizers. The conclusions can serve as inspiration for theatre managers grappling with the shortage of skilled professionals and as a guide for theatre organizers on the existence and effectiveness of various methods aimed at improving the situation of theatre crafts.
