Summary/Abstract: Agnieszka Taborska’s essay is devoted to the memory of Marcin Giżycki who passed away on October 20, 2022. A filmmaker and film expert; a photographer; a critic and a historian of art and the cinema; an author of collages, drawings and limericks; a reliable friend; an excellent chef; professor at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw and the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence (USA). Taborska discusses the tragic circumstances of Giżycki’s death and the involvement of his students and friends in cultivating his memory: the publication of his last books, exhibitions, film projections, meetings, lectures, and articles. The text constitutes “a report” of what took place in connection with reminiscences pertaining to Giżycki during the last two and a half years. An homage to his diverse creativity as well as to all those who have made it possible for us to continue to interact with his oeuvre.
