Summary/Abstract: Fear of failure is understood as a multidimensional psychological construct shaped by the dynamic interplay of emoțional, cognitive and personality based influences. Fear of Failure has been descripbed as an phenomenon, expressed throught feelings of anxiety, nervousness or worry in anticipation of possible failure.In performance context such as the academic enviroment, fear of failure manifests through affective responses and cognitive threat appraisals, influencing motivation, academic decision making and risk perception. Fear of failure shows variațion depending on one’s personal goals, sensitive to risk and gender identity most notably impacting female students who consistently report greater levels of fear. This phenomenon affects not only academic performance but also mental health, contributing to increased anxiety and diminished self-esteem.
