Summary/Abstract: Permanent Structured Cooperation is a successful initiative through which the European Union develops the military capabilities necessary to strengthen the European dimension of security and defense. Using the scientific method of the case study, this paper examines the level of Romania’s involvement in projects carried out within the institutional framework offered by this Permanent Structured Cooperation. Through its contribution to a significant number of such projects, Romania clearly demonstrates its capacity to act within a complex international format and to actively collaborate with a large number of participating states, thereby supporting the strengthening of the European Union’s Common Security and Defense Policy. Active participation and, in some cases, even the coordination of such projects highlight both the cumulative level of professionalism and the expertise of the Romanian state which, through its involvement in these initiatives, contributes directly to generating added value in the field of European defense and security.
