Summary/Abstract: The article examines the two plays by Georgi Gospodinov, DJ, written and first staged in 2003, and Apocalypse comes at 6 pm, written in 2009, which had its theatrical premiere in early 2010. These texts outline the trajectory of transition from the manifest postmodernism in playwriting and the obsessive anxiety about the disintegrating and slipping identity, on which DJ is focused, to the peaceful sadness of performative drama and its new humane view of man and world today, which found expression in Apocalypse comes at 6 pm. The two plays outline this transition, both in the author’s own path as a playwright and in Bulgarian new drama as a whole.
