Summary/Abstract: The communication process is not only inherently complex, dynamic, and irreversible, but it is also historically embedded, encompassing a past, present, and future that collectively shape communicative behavior. Past experiences and contextual factors significantly influence how individuals engage in communication, particularly when similar situations recur. At the same time, anticipated future outcomes can shape present interactions. For example, if individuals wish to sustain a communicative relationship, they are more likely to engage respectfully, empathetically, attentively, and supportively in the present. In this way, communication is both a product and a catalyst of change, continuously influencing and reshaping those involved. This perspective highlights what may be regarded as a categorical imperative of human interaction: the fundamental necessity of communication for the existence and continuity of the human species.
