The mission of the Orthodox Church and the challenges of globalization and secularization

Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on the need to redefine the Orthodox mission in the postmodern world. The primary challenges facing the Orthodox community — both clergy and laity — are driven by the phenomena of globalization and secularization. These phenomena give rise to other issues that significantly hinder the effectiveness of Orthodox mission today. Consequently, it is necessary to reaffirm a form of urban mission that aligns with the biblical and patristic principles of the early Church while remaining effective within the current socio-historical and cultural-religious context.
