Summary/Abstract: From the contemporary chronicles that mention Patriarch Michael Cerularius (1043–1059), we know of the existence of a monastery founded by the hierarch, under the patronage of the Archangels. Details about this edifice are extremely scarce. We only know the approximate location and its feast day. We do not have precise information about the year when construction began, nor do we know the architectural details of the building complex. Today, the church no longer stands. We know that it was not turned into a mosque but was instead destroyed. The only way to discover the remains of the monastery would be if it were uncovered during construction work, especially if any such project were undertaken on the exact spot where the monastery stood in the second half of the eleventh century.
