Summary/Abstract: Flaubert’s correspondence, through the depth and precision of his observations on the art of writing, transcends the biographical dimension and acquires the status of a metatext. It offers readers a privileged source for interpreting his writing style, revealing how the author rigorously negotiates the relationship between form and content, the importance of choosing the exact word, and the subtleties of sentence construction. In this article, we aim to demonstrate that Flaubert’s letters not only document his creative process, but also illuminate his entire conception of the act of creation, deeply shaping the portrait of a writer concerned with universality, balance, and stylistic perfection.
