Summary/Abstract: The period of the Ottoman Empire brought significant changes across various cultural, social, legal, and economic dimensions. This period was particularly important for many cities in Europe in general, including Hungary in particular. Many Albanians held significant positions within the Ottoman Empire, including Hasan Pasha Gjakovalia, who operated in Pécs, Hungary. His influence during his tenure in this region left an indelible mark on leadership, including in his investments. Notably, he is recognized for the construction of a compound that included a mosque, a madrasa, and a monastery. Fortunately, the mosque built by Hasan Pasha Gjakovalia remains one of the few that has withstood the test of time. The history of the compound, particularly of the mosque in question, considering its antiquity, originality, and historical significance, has led to its protection as a monument by the state, allowing it to serve as a museum for the city. This paper outlines the rationale behind the construction of the compound, the origin of Hasan Pasha Gjakovalia, and the mosque that has withstood the test of time for so many decades.
