Summary/Abstract: This study aims to examine occupational health and safety practices in preschool education institutions. The study evaluates the current status of occupational health and safety measures in institutions where preschool children receive education and reveals the effectiveness of these practices. The research was conducted using a qualitative method and analysed using data obtained from in-depth interviews with school administrators, teachers and other educational staff. The study reveals that the safety measures taken in preschool institutions mostly focus on basic emergencies such as fire, earthquake and health issues, but that these measures are generally inadequate. Infrastructure deficiencies, lack of fire escapes, and insufficient health personnel are among the main causes of safety gaps in preschool education institutions. Additionally, the lack of training for school personnel on occupational health and safety and the inadequacy of emergency drills reduce the effectiveness of safety measures. The findings of the study show that occupational health and safety practices in preschool education institutions are generally limited by financial constraints and inadequate training. It was emphasised that budgets should be allocated for improvements in this area and that training should be updated periodically. Furthermore, it was concluded that parents should also be informed about this issue and that cooperation between schools and families should be strengthened. In conclusion, infrastructure improvements, strengthening of training programmes, and organisation of emergency drills are important for improving occupational health and safety practices in preschool education institutions. These efforts are necessary to increase the safety of both children and education personnel and to provide a healthier educational environment.
