Summary/Abstract: Gemstones are raw substances that undergo a transformation from raw ores into beautiful pieces of jewelry. This process is a cultural and technical tradition that continues for a long time. In the last five years, academic literature and industrial havings have been reviewed for making an assessment of the evolution of gemstone processing and jewellery manufacturing. The journey from traditional lapidary arts to modern digital technologies includes cutting techniques, polishing methods, quality control process and sustainability practices. The global jewelry market was worth USD 348 billion in 2025 growing at a CAGR of 5.2% and with the growing technological advancements and environment-friendly attempts, the global jewelry market was improved. Findings suggest that laser cutting tech, 3D printing, and robot production fit in with traditional methods sustaining approaches determine the future of the sector. This paper will provide a thorough overview of the performance and prospects of the gemstone and jewellery industry for academics, industry and policymakers.
