Przyczynek do recepcji twórczości Jarosława Iwaszkiewicza w Chorwacji
A Contribution to the Reception of Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz’s Works in Croatia

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to diachronically trace the ‘presence’ of Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz’s oeuvre and persona in Croatia. The starting point in the presented study is the event of the publication of the translation of Podróże do Polski [Putovanja u Poljsku] by Dalibor Blažina in 2022 and the related question of the contemporary existence of the figure of the author of Panny z Wilka in Croatia. The research material, based on existing translations of the poet’s literary works (e.g. by Zdravko Malić), introductions to literary studies monographs and Croatian poetic and prose anthologies, has been analysed by the author and subjected to comparative interpretation in order to highlight the sources, inspirations and problems related to the Croatian reception of Iwaszkiewicz’s work. The study, belonging methodologically to the discipline of literary studies, may serve as a source of reference for translation studies and Slavic studies.
