Summary/Abstract: This article examines the discursive shifts that led to the reevaluation of graphology's scientific status in the 20th century. It challenges the work of Robert Saudek, a Czech interwar graphologist, questioning his "scientific" justifications for associating handwriting analysis with "brainwriting." Using a deconstructive approach, the article analyzes Saudek's work, highlighting phonocentric and logocentric prejudices. It argues that Saudek's methodology overlooks the instability of manual writing movements, ultimately contributing to graphology's decline and replacement by forensic handwriting analysis after WWII.
